White mulberry. Morus alba. Seeds.
A beautiful tree, exotic, tasty and healthy berries.
Although it is a rarity in our garden for now, it is worth a try, because growing it is not at all difficult.
A fairly moist, fertile garden soil is required. Heavy clay soil must be improved by incorporating rotted manure or compost, but not peat.
Mulberries tolerate dry, sandy soils well, but then they form small shoot growths, and the berries are also smaller.
Mulberries are mostly cross-pollinated plants. In order for mulberries to pollinate and produce a crop, two trees must be planted; the distance between them cannot be greater than a hundred meters. This may be the reason why an existing mulberry tree in the garden does not produce.
Dried white mulberry berries - this is a full-fledged natural sweetness. The sweet and slightly sour taste of the berries is an excellent dietary product with a low calorie count.
Mulberries are stored for a long time and can replace sugar. One hundred grams of berries contain a little more than forty calories. This makes the berries attractive to adherents of low-calorie diets. People suffering from obesity or who are overweight are recommended to eat mulberries before the main meal on an empty stomach. The berries reduce appetite and help reduce insulin levels in the blood.
