Southern Catalpa. Catalapa bignonioides. Seeds.
The catalapace has several mounds, the Cigar Tree, the Indian bean Tree.
This is the tree that will gladly grow on the banks of rivers, streams and lakes, making the landscape unrepeatable. Additionally, it grows more shadowy than in the direct sun, which is an additional plus for this tree.
In a warmer climate, the catalapa grows to a height of 15-20 m, branches are branched and the wreath is extensively rounded.
Blossoms are up to 5 cm long, white with maroon spots and two yellow stripes, concentrated in large, fluffy, pyramid blossoms. It blooms for about 20 days.
Leaves fall after the first frost without changing colour in the autumn.
Poor tolerance for drought, new plants need watering during drought.
The tree is not suitable for windy areas.
The seedlings must be placed at a distance of 4-5 m. In the first few years you have to be let down richly, once a week. One plant needs 15-20 L of water.
New plants planted in autumn should be mulched thick with peat, it's worth wrapping with a thick cloth or straw.
No statification is required for seeds. It is important for sowing that the soil does not dry, as catalapa is a moisture-loving plant.
3 seeds per pack.
