Tree or large shrub, up to 10 m tall with a rounded crown. Bark dark brown-gray, grooved, often with corky growths.
Young shoots yellowish brown, thin.
Medium winter-hardy to winter-hardy species. Shade-tolerant when young. Grows well in neutral or alkaline soils, also tolerates acidic soil. Drought-resistant. If the maple grows closely with other trees, it may suffer from powdery mildew.
Easy to shape, therefore suitable for various gardens.
In autumn, the leaves turn yellow.
When propagating this maple with seeds, the plants may differ slightly from each other.
