Euonymus is a beautiful ornament in any garden composition, all year round.
European Euonymus can be formed as a small tree or shrub, 2-3m tall. Stems are four-sided, leaves are regular, large, elliptical in shape, leathery, dark green in color. In early to mid-autumn, the leaves turn distinctly red.
Flowers are small, green in color. The four-part capsules become yellow-red when ripe.
For health: Practically all types of Euonymus are poisonous. However, in small doses, infusions and decoctions are used in folk medicine to treat various diseases, but the plant is not used in official medicine. Fruits and infusions of leaves and roots have a laxative effect, increasing the dose causes vomiting.
Euonymus preparations have anthelmintic, antiparasitic, strengthening, antispasmodic effect. In case of hypertension and fungal diseases, the infusion and decoction can have a beneficial effect.
The horsetail has long been known to folk scientists, although it is very poisonous, but it has many valuable properties. Most often, the European horsetail and the warty horsetail are used in medicine, other species are less common. They are used in case of severe headaches and nervous system disorders. With their help, immunity is strengthened, as it has an antiviral effect.
In folk medicine, horsetail is used to treat hypertension and vegetative dystonia, intestinal dysbacteriosis, ascites, hepatitis, and in the past, malaria was also treated. The infusions are used against all kinds of skin diseases - also to get rid of parasites, lice and ticks.
The bark, leaves, fruits and roots are used for medicinal purposes. The leaves are collected during the fruit ripening season, at this time they are the least poisonous, but they also have a weaker medicinal value. The bark and fruits are collected in the fall.
